Lemme briefly explain what therianthropy and otherhearted is for people who don't know.
Therianthropy historically reffered to mythical humans that can shapeshift into animals. In modern days it's used to refer to someone's experience as a therian, someone who identifies as an animal whether it be psycholigically, spiritually, or physically. Everyone's experience is different!
Otherhearted refers to someone who feels a strong connection to a character or species that affects their core identity. This DOESN'T mean they identify AS a certain character or species!! Very important dystinction between the two terms.
In my case I psychologically Identify as a cat or simply known as a catkin (specifically American shorthairs.) I behave a lot like a cat like being hella sensitive to some noise and touch, jumping and doing that pose cats do when they get startled/scared,being wary of my surroundings, and also picky with who I open up to/approach. I also have a few vocal habits like meowing, or just going "nya." I also experience a few phantom shifts like ears and a tail.
Otherhearted people have different versions of the term "kin." There's synpath, kith and simply -hearted. I use the term synpath to refer to mine cuz it just feels right lmao.
I have two synpaths which are raccoons and ravens. For raccoons I just saw a picture of a raccoon on a random Tuesday and thought to myself "holy shit bro is literally just like me frfr/srs." Not sure why I felt this strong connection with this raccoon but it is what it is.
For ravens, I thought I was ravenkin but came to realize that they're more so my synpaths than a kin.
